Bethany Maxwell - Jumping Horses

As you step into the arena, br Your heart rushes, br Horse following close behind, br Giving you steady nudges. br You mount yourself slowly into the English saddle br You move toward the jump. br Faster, faster. br Your feet ready in the stirrups br In jumping position, br As you grow closer to the jump br You are overcome by a weird sensation, br A sensation of happiness, nervousness, and excitement br As you post you feel the heart rate of the horse. br You are both one. br Faster, and faster still, br You feel as if you where flying, br Your horse raises its front legs, br You are flying! br Over the jump you feel relaxed, br You feel great. br You draw your horse to a slow gait, br Your heart racing. br Again and again you jump br 15 minutes pass you loose time, br You slow down. br The horse’s heart is racing to the pace of yours, br You slow to a halt br Lower yourself from his back, br You pat him congratulate him, br And return the tack.
