David DeSantis - Generation Me

David DeSantis - Generation Me

By the corner window br he sat br eyes glazed over, br as a temple of fear, br which had often wondered br just who, when, and how, br he had finally gotten here. br br Twice removed from anything resembling affection, br Three times the seasons had changed, br and his path, br as imperfect as implausible br had remained in the imagination of a stars reasonings. br br For him br musings remain a daily observence, br a casuality of war and dismal outbursts. br He was four times removed from br love-lorned lessons br and a slow learner br he remained br at most. br br Habitual drug user he'd heard it before, br friday, saturday, sunday, br his drugs are best. br Yet when served in mixed doses, br this corner window, br is the same br as a drug would do. br br For life gives lessons br to those who will take it br and to take is to king br as king cannot be wrong. br Thought train starlight, br I know who I am br I'm the product of a generation, br taken from kings.
