Mamta Agarwal - A Priceless Day

Mamta Agarwal - A Priceless Day

One day, br On my way, br I went to meet my granddaughter br and spend the day with her. br br I shared her joy br As she showed me her new toys. br Later we went for a walk br To the deer park. br br She held my hand, br But soon ran ahead br Without any fear br As she spotted the deer. br br And tried to peer br Into the enclosure. br She would not pay heed br As she tried to feed br Them with her small hands br As they flocked to her like old friends br br She laughed and danced with glee br And seemed utterly carefree. br Soon it was four br I dropped her at her door. br It was a priceless day br I felt as I drove away br br I looked back and saw she was in her maid’s lap, br Tired and all set to have a nap. br She waved with both hands at me. br I too kept waving till I could see. br Then I put my against the back rest br Could feel the heart beat in my chest. br br I recalled how she had hugged me, br And I didn’t want to set her free. br She really has a way br To make you happy and feel gay br She brings out the child in me br And I rediscover what it’s to just be.
