Kim Schilling - Old Lovers

Kim Schilling - Old Lovers

Our love set aside br Lets go your bitter pain br Pitiful little bird caged br Its youthful feathers clipped br To ensure you always there br But time is growth from me br Ready to fly once again br Away from my gripping touch br br My lover confined no longer br Now one of malice and contempt br Cerulean eyes once alluring and soft br Settling to chilled impenetrable glass br Autumn’s unforgiving nights of gray br Blowing through me bitter stares br Stabbing wounds imbedded deeply br My spirit lost to you br br Love overshadowed by perilous lives br Shaming words and pointing fingers br Now winter’s snow to warm spring rain br A healing heart slowly emerges br Slashes sewn by forgiveness br And blood pumped by acceptance br So great a thrashing for freedom br Old lovers, new lives br br br http: allpoetry.
