I know a girl from Cebu City br I have never met her but I know of her br through her lover… a much older man br who lives in my city. br br She is much younger br very beautiful… a bit like a child br He has arranged for her to come for an br extended visit br br He is worried that people might think br he has bought and paid for her, lest br her feelings be hurt br br I say she is too young to understand… br br He says he will throw money at the problem br and take her here and there, spoil her, br buy her things… br only to take her mind off things, of course… br br I think it is ironic that this girl will go back br to Cebu City with more possessions br thinking herself richer for the experience – br not having been bought and paid for, of course… br br and that this man from my city will be br all the poorer for his judgment…. br for buying the paper queen br a heart of stone.
