An ode to the lifeblood of society both past and present br The multitude of souls who break their spirits to present br Many invisible services to residents who resent br The smell of soiled clothes without their written consent br br Or dirty fingernails that fix their home to their content br And fill their rooms with all varieties of foreign content br From all continents br Where beleaguered joints can make them look prominent br br By spinning threads into patterns or metal into confident br Shapes that allure the senses and induces false confidence br Amongst others who toil under the same notion br That if they work hard enough br They’ll gain the boss’s devotion br br Unaware the head office needs them more than they br Need the head office to provide them with pay br For without dirty fingernails and smelly clothes br What’s to stop the garbage from piling up in rows? br Who’s to handle all the folks with the tags on their toes? br Where can one go to drown away all their woes? br br So br The next time you walk by and turn up your nose br Know br That when it comes back down and you look around br You might have to check your nails br And take a whiff of your clothesbr br P.R.
