C R Clark - Dandy Don

C R Clark - Dandy Don

The groundhog comes each evening br And forages on the lawn br Even though he doesn’t know it br I call him Dandy Don br br I’d like to tell him of his name br But, I guess it just can’t be br For, the slightest movement on my part br And Dandy Don will flee br br Two mallards live here on the lake br They swim from the other shore br And lounge for hours there on the lawn br While Dandy Don explores br br At times some deer will happen by br Just passing across the lawn br With no attention paid, at all br By the foraging Dandy Don br br Why then is he so fearful br When I just open up the door br I guess that he, somehow, suspects br That I’m a carnivore br br He wouldn’t be so worried br Even though, I do eat meat br If he could only understand br On these feet, I ain’t fleet br br So, if you ever see me running br Just hide behind a tree br And don’t look for what I’m chasing br ‘Cause something’s chasing me br br Copyright C R Clark-4132008br br C R Clarkbr br
