God's creations are in millions br Myriad hues of worms and insects, birds ans animals br Plethora of plants and trees, flowers and fruits! br br Great indeed is the species of monkeys br Intelligent and industrious br Innocent looking and individualistic br Unpredictable and imponderable! br br Sits in pensive mood and thoughtful face br As I enjoy that pose for a while br Fast and swift in movement br Jumps on to a tree br Hops from branch to branch br No matter how slim is the branch! br br Variety of monkeys difficult to visualize br Imitating you and me intelligently what we do! br br Envied the creation- the ease with which br It jumps from height to height br Admired its compassion as it carries its kid in chest br Appreciated the discipline as it moves one behind the other in file! br br Ashamed at times at the way we behave br A boy in his early teens, opens the water tap on the road br Quenches his thirst, leaves the tap unclosed! br br Sitting in a train while it stopped at a station br Watched an intelligent monkey - my pet br Opening the tap, drank the water to its needs br Closing the tap as if to conserve br Went ahead with its jumping spree! br br Winged my thoughts to the days of Ram br Army of monkeys helping build the bridge br Across the ocean to Sri Lanka of yore br Sure can not be figment of imagination!br br Subbaraman N Vbr br
