If someone had told me years ago, br poetry would make my name. br I would have politely smiled br and nodded yes, br and not believed a word of it. br I remember once br attending a poetry reading br and calmly getting up br and declaring I was not a poet, br and then wondered why everyone laughed. br They must have realised something br I did not know br that in fact, I was a poet, br of course, that was a long time ago, br and much waters br have crossed under the bridge of my life. br The doodles I once called poems br were in fact poems after all. br Some were much better br than I could ever dream of. br It took me a long time br and the internet to realise that fact. br Now I have started a new dawn br within my writing career, br taken steps down roads br I never thought I would go. br The journey has not been unmarked, br as I have gained so much more br than just becoming recognised as a writer. br I have gained so many friends across the world. br Something I could have only dreamed about br in my younger years.
