Seven years ago, br I went back to Canada br after forty-two years. br I walked down a road br to show my wife where I used to live. br The road was built on rolling hills br and as I came over one, br I knew instantly where I was. br Things had changed br in those forty-two years, br some would say br it was unrecognisable br from what I used to know, br but as soon as I started down the hill br things came back like yesterday. br It was as if I had never been away. br Memories of my childhood br instantly sprang to mind. br I found myself seeing things br not as the now, br but there were changes br from the way back then. br The memory flashes br brought a smile to my face br as I could visualise br all the friends I knew then, br the funny incidents that over my life br in the way back then. br All too soon, time br has a way of taking things back br and my memory reclined them br to the back door of my mind.
