They are the future of humanity br But many of them living in poverty br And without shelter homeless on the street br Searching through rubbish bins for scraps of food to eat. br br Poor children are victims of circumstance br In life they never really get a chance br Or have opportunities as privileged children do br The road from the poor suburb to prison leads them to. br br From broken homes they are condemned to fail br Their abusive and drug addicted parents serving time in jail br Their parents too homeless in their teen years br On no hope street no laugther only tears. br br The Government does not care about those who live in poverty br No political advantage in philanthropy do they see br Their tally men for them have taken note br That few in the poor suburb ever bother for to vote. br br Poor children without homes and sleeping rough br And life for them already hard enough br At the wrong end of the social divide br Any chance of a good future to them is denied.
