I see her face in strangers as they pass br A silhouette, a turn of hand br Momentarily a pause confusing time br Whilst hope is captured yet again br By reason, which denouncing joy br Chides me as absurd. br br The softly haloed light on that girl's hair br Comes from the source which once drew down br On another child of life and I br She and her lover smile together br Turn, and then look each for one other br Deep into the others eyes. br br It wasn’t long before she obeyed the call br Time enough to change br The life of one who has to wait br The mind says fool yet untrammelled spirit br Searches on. br br Nightly still we walk the path br A gentler light along the way br Now dawn sees her fade and I depart br Together with the silver trail br Which must endure for now br More days.
