Carmela Patterson - ' TIMES THREE '

Carmela Patterson - ' TIMES THREE '

I heard my name called in the early morning rising, br a call to prayer or an action to take I am surmising. br There was no accompanying dream I can recall; br it was the voice of a man and no vision at all. br br Whose voice could it have been that I heard br that summoned me to wake, my sleep deferred? br Why was I called in the wee morning hours, br this cool cloudy morn with sprinkling showers? br br I did not know the voice of the man who spoke br but I wondered if ~ was it me the Lord woke? br I still hear my own name called one times three br And I wonder, Lord, could it have been Thee? br br I will take from the mention of my name br that it was a call from Thee, Lord, who came br bid me rise and begin the day with prayer br for our world which is in need of repair, br that national resources we share, br that everyone for all will care. br br Until we learn to love one another br As sister, brother, father and mother br the way Thou knewest before the start, br O Thou Loving Sacred Heart, br cleanse us of all that is not of Thee br Thy Blood to bathe us, ah Sweet Purity, br Help us grow in spiritual maturity br Lord, I Praise and Thank Thee br For Thou didst call me ~ one times three.
