This flower in the gutter now br Is standing there alone, br So lonely and forgotten for br No love has it been shown, br A seed once fell upon the ground br From which this flower grew, br And though it looks so pretty now br Such trials it has been through. br br It's struggled in adversity br Survived there for so long, br And poisoned yet it grew again br Its will to live so strong, br The soil is thin and dusty and br Its roots aren't very deep, br It doesn't get much water yet br Its beauty it does keep. br br And no one seems to notice it br Unseen from passers by, br And no one seems to care if it br Should live or it should die, br This flower in the gutter now br Still standing there alone, br So lonely and forgotten for br No love has it been shown.
