Kim Schilling - Down the Road to Nowhere

Down the road to nowhere – br You found me walking there, br Battling my demons and darkness; br A promise of love you offered, br Your age and wisdom revered, br I took your hand and trusted. br br Arduous were the days and nights – br As we struggled to have needs met, br You, incapable of seeing past yourself. br Promises broken and fears realized, br Yet determined to overlook it all; br For the sake of love just out of reach. br br Many, many years have passed – br It’s eerie in these long dark halls, br As we pass each other silently. br Nothing in common, but him; br Beautiful young child of innocence, br Mindful of the coldness about him. br br He hears you berate me, bully me. br Dominated and controlled by anger, br Your words sting like a viper’s bite. br How many times do I plead? br While together, we fall separately br Back down the road to nowhere. br br br http: allpoetry.
