ANDREW BLAKEMORE - Please Lend Me Your Wings

Please lend me your wings let me fly over mountains br As night is now fading into the sunrise, br Above the horizon where cold rugged shadows br Now melt to the light of the glorious skies. br br So high up above let me sail to the distance br And ride on the clouds that in scarlet do glow, br Then soar through the air with the beams shining brightly br That light up my feathers wherever I go. br br I'll sense there the warmth of the dawn all around me br I'll float on the thermals and into the blue, br While feeling the freedom alone in the heavens br An ocean unending, a marvellous view. br br And then I'd look down on the earth in its glory br That's lifting from darkness to herald the day, br And I'd never rest I would fly on forever br For there I would gaze at that wondrous display. br br Please lend me your wings let me fly over mountains br As night is now fading into the sunrise, br Where hope is eternal so I'll go on dreaming br And soar in the light of the glorious skies.
