David Taylor - Waiting for a Falling Star

David Taylor - Waiting for a Falling Star

The gentle mist softly touched br grass, earth and trees, br obscuring the present enfolding hills br from eyes' sight. br br Without knowledge of the sun br it might be thought that the very mist itself br was the source of light; br dimly illuminating the small world br not yet hidden by its envelopment. br br That seeming self luminous mist, br the light for men br in deep valleys full br of promised pastures green. br br Those on the hilltop bask in sunlight br and call to the mountains beyond; br as, in the valley they ponder br on the meaning of stars br and wait for one to fall to earth.
