a tired morn, a worn tyre br travelled far (had gazed on stars) br ate lunch but did not see br what was really eating me; and br br thought about, and then thought best br to go lie down (best way to rest?) br thoughts circled, bluebottle droned br didn't bother to answer phone; br br sat in garden, flowers glowed br they knew it seemed (but what knowed?) br parakeets ate from cherry tree br another perched looks on (not me?): and br br picked up a book which tried to speak br I read the words (as if in sleep) br they said I am awake br but as I dream I wait my fate; and br br as a dawn of subtle light br as if those stars (those ones last night) br shone upon my dismal state br I knew it never is too late;br br David Taylorbr br
