Amanda Lukas - A Moment of Closing for a Generation Gap

Amanda Lukas - A Moment of Closing for a Generation Gap

We sat there yesterday, chatting. br Though we live under the same roof, br it's not something we often do. br You go your way and I go my own, br and so often I'm working, br it seems I'm never home. br br And as we sat, br you brought up the war... br and I admit that I cannot share your fears for our country br when Isreal attacks Iran. br I think of the war and fear for my peers br which are still losing their lives. br A generation gap, maybe? br Obviously something more personal than a hatred for our president, br at least. br br Then you mention our old friend, br and how they've called in the care of a hospice. br And I look into your eyes as they tear. br br 'Everyone goes, you know? ' I say. br br 'It just hurts so much more when you watch the strong ones.' br br And both of us reaize, if only momentarily, br that maybe, we are on the same page.
