Until he drew his final breath br He tried so hard to cheer, br All through his life until his death br His heart was kind and dear. br br He lived by honest Christian ways br And did the best he could, br Until the ending of his days br He fought to do some good. br br This town will be a sadder place br Now that his life has passed, br He always greeted folks with grace br A saint unto the last. br br So place a flower on his grave br And bid a kind farewell, br His life for peace he bravely gave br Now here his soul must dwell.
