See this fine manuscript br so beautifully illuminated round the picture – br br why, it’s none other than Kabir! br reading a book entitled The Poems of Kabir; br br he’s smiling, laughing, waving his hands – br how can he be enjoying himself so much? br br The manuscript doesn’t tell you this; br only Kabir can tell you, in that other place.. br br of all the poems, he only recognises two br as poems that he wrote himself.. br br but here’s Kabir’s delight today: br many of the other poems, he thinks, br br are good enough to be his! br How wonderful to be so praised in spirit! br br As he reads – see, he’s circled round with angels; br they’re all laughing too.
