This night br Beauteous and bright, br Beauteous by the cool breeze br It brings in nice, br Beauteous by the sweet smells br Alluring soft br Of flowers that bloom br Around this place, br And bright by the full round moon br Shining upon the distant sky… br br Here, br I rest on my reclining chair br My thoughts inclining to else where; br I gaze upon this star studded sky; br Like scattered gems br On a carpet black, br Suddenly these sparks br Capture my eyes br And pull me back br From my lazing thoughts br Soothing my pensive mood br This lovely sight … br br Twinkle br As I look at them br They wink at me, br I feel them smile; br Not one or two a bunch of them br Ready to take me on a ride, br I start to count them br But countless I find; br Give up the game, I lose br A loss pleasing my mind… br br I like br To close my eyes to keep them in; br But they open the lids inward br Fill me with joy; br Disarmed gazing I recline; br Springs up a thought br Into me so nice br ‘Me a captive to these stars br In my mind! ’br br Kesav Venkat Easwaranbr br
