David Harris - Friends Across The Internet

David Harris - Friends Across The Internet

This poem goes out to all my friends wherever they may live. br br Someone said to me recently br you cannot count people on the internet br really as your friends. br When asked why not? br They replied, you never see them, br never touch their hands, br so you really cannot count them as friends. br I disagreed with them entirely; br friends are what you make people. br Maybe you cannot see them, br nor touch them physically, br but when you write to them, br you feel you know them; br sometimes more than br those you meet everyday. br My wish is one day br I will be able to meet all of them br and give them a big hug individually, br to show them they really are a friend to me. br I have met a few already whom I care a lot about br and I worry about them when troubles come their way, br but there are many more whom I have yet to meet. br They live in distant lands, br many thousands of miles from me br and I am going to do my best br to visit them one day, br so don’t be too shocked of you get an email from me br saying I am coming your way br on such and such a day.
