Rani Turton - I Was Walking in Yesterday

Rani Turton - I Was Walking in Yesterday

I was walking in yesterday br Wraiths and city nights knew me br I walked far on into the past and then br The complexity of that endless road came across to me br I didn't use word associations, then and now, br Not even to try to place locations in br The map of my mind; I wandered here and there br br I was walking in yesterday br As if yesterday was today br And as though the past was alive br br I walked into yesterday and it was the friend br Whose name I couldn't recall; it was the wanderer's wine br Bought at a wayside stall br It was the cold water in a village well when the sun burnt the eyes br All the rest was lies br br I walked into yesterday but I left my todays behind br I did not realise that I was leaving behind br The remants of the rest of my mind.
