David Harris - Country Travelin’ Man

David Harris - Country Travelin’ Man

I’m a country travelin’ man br riding a boxcar whenever I can. br Summer you will find me br where the north winds blow br among the big forests br where the giant pine trees grow. br Winter I am way down south br among the oranges br in a California grove. br No one place is my home. br Nowhere is where I want to stay. br I don’t care if the wind br blows rough or fair br and my clothes are all threadbare. br ‘Cause I’m a country travelin’ man br and everywhere is my home. br br 23 October 1998 br br Authors note: br I discovered this little piece while sorting out some papers. I wrote it on a paper bag, which suggests I was out somewhere at the time and that would have been the only thing at hand to write it down.
