Jean Mallette - Fruit Of The Spirit

Jean Mallette - Fruit Of The Spirit

Though broken 'neath the weight of grief, br The heart beats on in sorrow. br It seeks to meet some soon relief br But finds none in the morrow. br br The heart is crushed; it's bruised to tears br And cannot sense the reason br For life that would but disappear br Before it's own due season. br br The child who grew next to my heart, br Transfused such love and laughter; br But soon his young life would depart br Ascending the Hereafter. br br Oh, Heart, produce your fruit of grief- br Much sweeter than the vine. br For though you're trampled 'neath the Thief, br You're left to pen these lines. br br You must beat on against the foe br For Death must be defeated. br Allow your tears of grief to flow br Until with Christ we're seated.
