Joseph S. Josephides - Eros – Pteros

The earth of Curium quaked amid br As we indulged in a love, then slipped br A deadly pillar that put us to sleep br Absent, still present and now redeemed. br br Look! In the light, two embraces now one, indeed! br br ** br Here, in Choirokoitia, both buried as one br Under the floor of our house, woman and man, br With a boulder on our chests the burial was done br A seed, from which we grow to become a plant. br br Look! Two embraces became one, under the sun! br br ** br The verse, is a root spreading through the soil, br Offering to leaves the juice of love, for body and soul, br Up flying oxygen, upwards in clouds then down as rain, br Up and down on Cupid’s very wings, again and again. br br br Translation: Andis Panayiotou-Hadjiodysseosbr br Joseph S.
