Charles Wiles - ...An Angel's Face (best love poems)

When I was young I had a dream br A vision of perfection seen br A miracle of female grace br Heaven sent, an angel’s face. br br The image filled my heart and mind br And through my life I longed to find br The woman of that holy night br When I was blessed with such a sight. br br The world I searched and breathless saw br Steep mountain peaks, cruel jagged shore, br Harsh highland hills, white river’s run, br Cool arctic moon, hot desert sun. br br Dry planes so wide, lush valleys deep, br Rich palaces and ragged keeps, br Night sky so black, fresh snow so white, br Deep caverns dark and cities bright. br br Fair beaches warm, fierce oceans cold, br Wild orchids young, great forests old, br New widows’ tears and new borns’ cries, br Pear shaped pearls and burning skies! br br Yet nothing took my breath away br Quite like your smile that golden day br For there at last, my vision true, br That angel’s face belonged to you.
