Sunil Uniyal - The Fish is Thirsty (A Bhajan of Kabir)

i burst into laughter br whenever i hear br that the fish is thirsty in water br br without the knowledge of the Self, br people just wander br to Mathura or to Kashi, br like the musk-deer unaware br of the scent in his navel, br goes on running forest to forest. br br in water is the lotus plant br and the plant bears flowers br and on the flowers are the bees buzzing, br likewise all yogis and mendicants br and all those who have renounced comforts, br are on here and hereafter br and the nether world - br contemplating. br br Friend, the Supreme Indestructible Being - br on whom thousands of sages meditate br and even Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, br really resides within one's self. br br Although He is near, He appears far away - br and that is what makes one disturbed; br says Kabir, listen, O wise one, br by Guru alone is such confusion curbed.
