It was on the road to Kandahar br That the bomb was taped to me br I was left bereft of arms and legs br No elbows and no knees. br br ‘Ah, God is great’ they said to me br When I was lying in my bed br ‘And just think of all those virgins br That you will take unto your bed’. br br Now I cannot walk nor hardly talk br My tongue it is ripped out br My body now is crippled br Yet, it’s the Koran that they still spout. br br They do not know of anguish br They do not know of pain br They do not know Mohammed br They are playing cruel games. br br If I could see, if I could be br Just what I was before br Then I’d still give myself to God br But to end not start a war.
