Fay Slimm - We'll Meet Again.

Fay Slimm - We'll Meet Again.

How many sing, nostalgically now br Those popular war-time songs? br Remembering the horrors, as unknown br Numbers, no matter how young br Were setting out finally, leaving behind br Sobbing sweethearts and swollen-eyed wives br To travel to terror in unknown lands br And offer the best of their unblemished lives. br Sometimes to suffer and end their short days br In bloody dark ditch, muddied black br By other young innocent blood, fazed br Beyond sense, did they know they wouldn't come back? br br Will nobody ever outlaw the wars br That crucify truth, as misunderstood br Freedom? God only knows br How many false hopes courageous souls br Watched smashed, as they hummed the songs br About meeting again, such as those br They had learned just a little before br The beginning of hell that was now called war.
