' br br What else could I have done? br You would have thought me foolish, br Had I so much as hinted; br I sometimes spend the night, br Stargazing on the moon. br br How shall I answer now br Your wide-eyed gape, br And make you understand? br You, who cannot even see br Moon fairies, lighting up my trees... br br ...for poets are fools br (or else are lesser gods!) br not meant to be understood.
