Lonnie Hicks - Youth Always Wins

Lonnie Hicks - Youth Always Wins

Generational change br wins always br because the old and middle-aged br develop a clouded lens br and can' t see Now br because focused on Yesterday. br br Is good advice for Youth Now br consist of lessons learned yesterday, br when yesterday no longer exists? br br Can we tell the Young that yesterday br is relevant br when all yesterday is dead and gone? br br How can we council that the old views br and yesterday make sense br when conditions have so changed br have been rent, br mangled beyond br recognition? br br Young people br as they must br absorb much from us, br but their capacities br and needs are so much greater br than our meager philosophies present. br br For the first time in history br young people are smarter br than their elders who br barely know how a computer works. br br First time in history the young br are wiser than the septuagenarians. br br Generations are additive br and while all youth stands upon br our shoulders br it also means they can see further br than we br planted on the ground below. br br We see ground level and the past- br they see above the clouds to that future-ness; br and we complain br because we know in our Youth br we did br exactly br the same thing br against our parents br who always thought br they too, br knew best.
