Risha Ahmed (12 yrs) - (137) Kid's truth lands pop in soup

It was a bright summer’s day br And a man was driving his car br It seems he was crossing the speed limit br So it’s obvious the police weren’t far br The police chased him all the way br But the man had already reached his house br He admitted himself inside br Looking as terrified as a mouse br He asked his wife to tell br The police that he hadn’t come br And he concealed himself in the bedroom br Feeling depressed, scared and glum br The police arrived and asked the wife where he was br She said he wasn’t there br When her three year old daughter stepped up br With cheeks so chubby and fair br She piped up in her little voice, br “If you want to know just ask me br Daddy’s hiding in the bedroom br Why don’t you go and see? ” br The police caught the man br And asked him, “Well, what do you say, br It seems because of your own daughter br You are in trouble today” br The man just shook his head and said, br “I am to be blamed for this tumult br I always taught my daughter never to lie br And this is the result! ” br br The inspiration for this poem came from an anecdote in Reader's Digestbr br Risha Ahmed (12 yrs)br br
