Gary Fellows - The Father Who Lost His Son

Did I take a wrong turn br Did I lose my way br Miss the things that matter br Did I fail you without my noticing br Not know what matters most br Or what is important in life br Did I lose you br In some crowded street br In a dense wood br In a sea of tranquillity br Fail to notice you missing br Or fail to seek you out br br Did you get yourself lost br Not tell me where you were br Stay away too long br Did the time just pass you by br Fail to tell me how you were br Or forget until too late br Or was it something worse br Something too tragic to share br Some kind of illness br Was it despair that halted you br From telling me what’s wrong br So bad and so chilling br br Or is it that you cannot say br Because of something far worse br Something that prevents you br From uttering a single word br That something being death br That came your way so quick br No it was nothing of the sort br You’re very much alive br But still I’m left grieving br And asking where I went wrong br How my son ended up that way br From innocent baby and boy br To the monster that you now are br br br An insight into a hypothetical scenario inspired by some real life cases br (November 2008)br br Gary Fellowsbr br
