Whitney Albright - 'Jesus' Feet'

Whitney Albright - 'Jesus' Feet'

Though last nights prayer br Brought on deep conversation br I found myself br In a sleep aspiration br br Centuries ago in Bethany br Where Lazarus was raised br Six days before Passover br He came to be praised br br They hosted a supper br Martha served br Awed by Christ br I couldn’t help but to observe br br Oh, I was a sinner br My life benighted br And to this supper br I was uninvited br br I couldn’t help but step inside br And bring my ointment jar br I told him with bright eyes br Christ, 'I want to be where you are! ' br br So, then and there I fell br Fell beside him on my knees br And let the ointment br Wash his soft, smooth feet br br I was so gentle br As I watched dirt smear br I washed them so merciful br That I began to bathe them in tears br br My sins of scarlet turned to snow br And then he caught my eye br For I used my long hair br To pat his feet dry br br I kissed them on their tops br And let him get back to dining br But no one could over look br Those precious feet shining br br And when we all get to heaven br Do not look for me in the street br For if you want to find me br I’ll be at Jesus’ feetbr br Whitney Albrightbr br
