Janice Windle - (Winter Poems) Christmas Present

What shall I give you for Christmas? I said. br What a question! you complained. br OK, I said, I'll give you something br nice and smelly from the Body Shop. br br But, you said, please, br don't give me br the cold shoulder, br or the elbow, or br the bum's rush. Please, br don't give me lip br or cheek - unless I've br asked for it. Please, br you said, don't give me br two fingers, or calf love br (I'm too old for that, I said) br And don't kidney, you went on, br because I couldn't stomach that. br br No, I said, but I could give you br the glad eye, br the thumbs-up, br a leg-up... br I could give you a hand... br in fact, as everybody nose, br I want to give you the whole br package: myself, br heart, body and soul....
