Leslie Ching - Awaiting Judgement

Leslie Ching - Awaiting Judgement

My courage, like the larks, has taken flight; br May God save me from this dreadful plight- br br I had rose to the sky on angel's wings, br But I know not of what judgement brings... br - br I'm third in line, br Behind a young soldier who died in battle br And a small child who looks ready to cry, br Separated from her mother, still in the land of the living. br My nerves are uncontrollable. br The soldier, having died a heroic death, br Fighting for his country, should be blessed with eternity in heaven, br And the little girl too, being just a innocent child, br But I? What of me, a mere old man? br Will I pass on a glorious afterlife br Or plunge down to the hellfires of doom? br - br As Time flies by, my fate draws close, br My heart wilts like a dying rose... br - br The soldier and the little one have gone, br Called by the messenger to be presented to Him. br I'm at the very front now, br And I can see the messenger coming to get me- br - br My senses dulled, my feet heavy, br I follow to find my destiny... br br Head bowed, I kneel humbly at His feet, br His voice I hear, ever clear and sweet; br br 'Oh please, dear God, take pity on me, br I've done no harm-let me be free! br br 'I've done many a sin, commited crime- br Send me to hell! For endless time! ' br br My courage, like the larks, has taken flight; br May God save me from this dreadful plight- br br I had rose to the sky on angel's wings, br Now I shall know of what judgement brings...
