Bonnie Collins - The Old Covered Bridge

Bonnie Collins - The Old Covered Bridge

Crossing over the covered bridge br hearing the click click as we go br over each and every piece of wood br br Looking out and seeing the river below br how the snowcaps from the evergreen br seem to wrap its edge with warmth br br So many times as a child we would go br over this covered brirdge, and never br really understanding, how we were intruding br on mother natures serinity br br Flying off in a scuff, a very angry hawk br either got its pray, or was about to leach br down for its kill br br Memories still stay in my mind of that old br road, with the rivers edge so pleasant to view br in summer and a winter's wonderland in the cold br br Today the bridge is gone, the area now has br been purchased, and all that remains is br just a vacant view, as the trees were all cut, br and mohter nature was robbed again br br Forever in my mind I will hold the scenery br in my heart, as the distant crys of various br birds a chatter, and the squirels scattering br up the rivers bank's fallen accorns br br The same sun rises and falls each day br however never will it shine as it did br when the old covered bridge was there.....
