ANDREW BLAKEMORE - All Through The Barren Winter

ANDREW BLAKEMORE - All Through The Barren Winter

All through the barren winter br I have waited for this day, br To see the signs of springtime br With its colours on display, br For all the purple crocuses br And snowdrops now in bloom, br Have brought a joy into my heart br And lifted winter's gloom. br br To see the golden daffodils br Now bursting into flower, br And blossoms catch the morning breeze br Upon the cherry bower, br The meadows filled with daisies br And the hawthorn draped in white, br As through the skies the swallows soar br So beautiful their sight. br br The days are growing longer now br The air is warmer too, br Now soon the threat of snow will pass br And frosts will melt to dew, br As bluebells spread so far and wide br Across the woodland floor, br I know that spring has come at last br And winter is no more.
