Lonnie Hicks - Violent Intent

She rushed up from her chair br hands flying br nails unsheathed br scratching br clawing, br violent intent; br and she drew blood. br br He crouched away br shielding his face br but too late br the bloody scratch line br grew crimson red br and instinctively br his hand flew up br to touch the bleeding spot br where his inside red fluid br became his outside red flow. br br She was back again with a br flailing kick br to reach him br at his tender spot br and buckling he br laid down flat out br and opened himself up br for her all-out assault. br br She paused above him br ready to pummel again br and hesitated br because he offered br her no resistance, br no attempt to protect himself. br br She grappled down onto him br saddled him to punch him br and still he made no attempt br to protect or resist. br br And she hit him a small slap br and realized br she was br the aggressor. br br And tears began to flow br in eyes br which realized br that isolated inside one's own violence br non-resistance br is the clue br that anger br is mostly br self-inflicted br and grows only br if it provokes br similar anger br and similar violent br resistance. br br And before her then br was non-resistance br forcing her to recognize br that the one below br her violent blows br was her beloved br husband br who didn't deserve br this. br br What he had done br was to lie quiet br being the mirror.
