Like every life form in this World humans are born to die br And the stories of an afterlife may even be a lie br For not one I know who has passed away to me has come back to tell br Of another life in another World of a heaven or of a hell br If this is the only life we'll live what a failure I have been br And though I've written reams and reams of stuff on the things I've done and seen br Since in the eyes of big brother success I have not known br Or as one would say the seeds of greatness in life I have not sown br I must be seen as a non achiever a weed can never become a rose br But not everyone can be a success such is life one must suppose br And does it matter anyway since death it is our lot br If your name will live for centuries or you will be forgot br And my only ambition in life is to live for as long as I can br And in my sleep die peacefully as a worn out old man.
