Whitney Albright - 'Illegal Immigration'

A Honduran man left his kids and wife br To give them all a better life br Of no more hunger, no more thirst br No more waiting on misery to spread worse br On an 18 wheeler, he sneaks a ride br For days on in he hopes and hides br Riding through America, land of the free br Turned out nothing like it seemed to be br For when he ran off after the truck stopped today br He found himself as a hopeless stray br He can’t get a job since he has an illegal name br And he won’t accept food since he’s so ashamed br The government, they won’t take him back br They say it’s too much money for them to stack br So, what of this man do you blame him at all? br The courage he held as he tried to stand tall br What would you have done to stop your families cries? br How far would you have went to stop hunger in your children’s eyes? br Would you go to the next country or two br To try and find something there for you br We have to look at him with our eyes and tears br And tell him we can’t help him here br Around the corner, he disappears br Why can’t we help him here? br A Honduran man left his kids and wife br To give them all a better life…br br Whitney Albrightbr br
