ANDREW BLAKEMORE - So Green The Land That I Can See

So green the land that I can see br The hills and fields before my eyes, br Which blend with joyful harmony br Beneath the peaceful summer skies. br br I breathe the morning air so sweet br So glad to be alive this day, br To see the new shoots of the wheat br And hedgerows now adorned with May. br br Along the country lane I head br Not caring where it leads me to, br I know wherever I am led br I'll always find a pleasing view. br br Beneath the bridge a river flows br Where ripples dance and brightly shine, br Like diamonds as the water glows br And winds unto this heart of mine. br br The sweeping slopes of light and shade br Where clouds now cast their shade before, br With all the beauty there displayed br No man could ever ask for more. br br So green the land that I can see br With gladdened soul I now do roam, br And as I go I say with glee br Fair England always be my home.
