David Taylor - Thirst

David Taylor - Thirst

The dryness was revealed by absorption br of the softly falling rain on rock, br the colours once hidden from my sight br blossoming like buds where each drop br met the inner thirst which I had seen not. br br Every rock proclaiming its welcome br for that gentle rain from heaven br in its immediate unveiling of beauty; br and I, drained and weary, laden; br br like a seed in dry dessert sand, br my heart awaiting, in this mortal man, br with a thirst which unseen cries br and deep within us all must lie, br for that sweet rain to arrive. br br Oh to cast off my impervious husk br and like a simple dry baked rock br absorb into my heart, my very life, br each and every grace filled drop.
