Anita Atina - The impatient river

Anita Atina - The impatient river

The impatient river had strained long enough, br To burst through the dam, br Gushing past, abrading boundaries br Scraping bare, green mossy banks br Discarding debris, here and there. br br There was a lull, br An almost silent intake of time, br As she surveyed, the futility of br What was washed away, exposing br The raw nature, of what survived. br br Muddied waters surged occasionally, br Hiding deep currents, br Over time these too shall settle, br Adding another layer, br To the river’s story br br Grass will soon creep over banks, br Hiding turmoil, under a soft green veil; br Wild flowers that sprout here and there br As butterflies and insects flit br Over the tasty tit bits, that muddied waters yield; br The river will flow on.
