GAYLE ANNE GOFF - A LEMON SUNSHINE DAY

To float among the new summer clouds br and under a new full silver moon I can br see the shadows looking back down at me br to smell the night time fragrance from br the first Honey Suckle trees to bloom br to feel the new summer winds blowing br through my hair, whispering new br summer secrets in my ear. br br And on the first new dawn of summer br to smell new smells, and natures old br forgotten familiar ones to stop and br hear a Robins babies peeping from br their nest hidden sunggled among br the Honey Suckle flowers, and branches. br The crickets are performing their first br concert of the summer. br br With the smell of fresh summer br dirt comes Gods creatures so br small their emergeing from br cracks and crevasses of the br ground after their winter slumber. br br Grandmas tulips are no longer br sleeping, their begining to stretch br looking up to that lemon summer sun, br to warm their new tips that have br started to emerge up through the ground. br Each new summer day some thing br new awakens to show its beauty.. br br New sounds, forgotten sounds br my garden has slept far to long. br Now the lemon summer sun has br started to do her job winter blankets br are no longer needed the blooms br have yet to be born, their in their br embryo stage. br br But it will not be long until Gods br color pallette will explode and br the flowers will stand up and dance br in their dresses of beautiful colors. br The fragrance will fill the garden br all of this under the lemon summer br sun. br And on this the first day of summer.
