Lived without ideals and dreams br till the age of nine, then discovered br Planet Serfontein and the elevating br effect of dreams sublime, for the first br time came across a description of noble love br br Since then I have never been alone again, br the flame that was ignited in my mind might br wax and wane, but never goes completely out, br I keep it alive by reading the same books, re- br turning to my source text from time to time, re- br maining true to my first ideal after all these years br br Planning to hold on tight while awareness lasts – br which might very well be for eternity – and should br I get the chance to grow in love and wisdom, I shall br try to apply all the ideals I have nurtured in my mind; br contrary to everything I have been taught and told in br literature, philosophy, psychology and history br br That when people grow up experience kills their dreams br and visions and the only rational way is to give up everything br and conform to the rest of humanity – I keep my original ideas br alive by rethinking them, found confirmation in spiritual literature, br ancient and modern, experienced the suffocation of religion, now br I know that success is never giving up – I’m so glad br br I found my dream for myself when I was nine – not having it br forced on me, having been on a quest for meaning for nine br lonely nihilistic years, without God and love, finding it for my- br self and infusing it with life, it is more precious to me than life br itself, more beautiful and powerful than the fame and wealth br deemed desirable by modern man…br br Margaret Alicebr br
