Frank Witte - Road from Haran

Frank Witte - Road from Haran

Dusty winding pathways outstretch my eyesight, br for I have been on this road before. br And I promissed myself; never more br to get caught in such a terrifying plight. br br Your face still in my eyes, br encapsulated deep inside. br It is you who I see br as I lay myself to sleep br br Struck by horror unseen to the naked eye, br having battled this demon before. br At this river of internal war, br where either I grow or else so do I die. br br Your voice still in my ears, br incarcerating fears. br It is you who I hear, br as I try to stay clear. br br I know a dark angel is awaiting me, br as with God I struggled before, br it is not just legend and lore; br this river I must cross so as to be free. br br Your touch still on my skin, br keeping me almost sane. br Am I to you inane, br as I try to keep from sin? br br Silhouette approaches from the river's bank, br I have been killed before, br except my inner core, br where I have remained human, free and frank. br br But if I lose your call br I will desintegrate, br None will resuscitate br and all I'll do is fall. br br Bleeding in the soil, stretched out to me a hand, br standing up once more, br the future has in store br journeys and turmoil on the road to Haran.
