Lubna S. Khan - (20) A Sun's Day

A sun had risen br A few years back, br Had been on a rising br Ever since that. br br Came here a man br So simple, so sober, br A little reserved, br But a human better. br br Six years back br Working for humanity, br He joined this family, br A profession of sanctity. br br A Guru can never die, br A Doctor doesn't retire; br And that you're both for us br Sir, you we do admire! br br The noblest of words, br The most religious deed, br Such is a doctor's work; br Sir, you are humanity's need. br br A simple living man br Sowing medical seeds we saw. br Is the sun setting? br No, it's actually rising now! br br br Written by me, br Lubna S. Khan br On the 31st of January,2009 br br It was written by me as a tribute to our Anatomy professor Dr. Savgaonkar on his retirement on that day.He, I feel, is one of the fewest simple people I've ever seen. Three thing about him that I can perhaps never forget are that, firstly no one could have taught us embryology better; secondly his simplicity(I was a fan of his dressing sense!) and thirdly that it was only his name that commanded discpline in the dissection hall!br br Lubna S.
